MACKAM® Propionates give formulators a flexible, reliable set of tools for building modern cleaning systems. 

They combine strong detergency and wetting with excellent hydrotroping and coupling performance, helping formulations stay clear and stable even in high-electrolyte or highly alkaline environments. 

Their foaming behaviour can be tuned across the range, from high-foam to ultra-low-foam grades, so formulators can match performance to the needs of each application.

MACKAM® Propionates work well alongside nonionics and builders, contribute to good rinseability and low streaking, and offer the stability needed for concentrated or complex systems. Many grades also provide corrosion inhibition, adding functional value without additional components.

Spotlight on MACKAM® OIP HA

MACKAM® OIP HA [INCI: Sodium 2-Ethylhexyliminodipropionate] is a high-active version of MACKAM® OIP40 designed for formulators who need maximum hydrotroping efficiency with minimal foam. It offers: 

• High active content for concentrated systems
• Excellent hydrotrope performance
• Very low foaming
• High caustic solubility
• Stable in high-electrolyte and high-alkaline environments
• Supports clear, stable formulations even in demanding systems

Performance Summary

Hydrotrope Cloud Points: With a clouding temperature of 89.5℃, MACKAM® OIP HA significantly exceeds the performance of other grades improving system stability.

Foam Volume: At 0.1% active, foam volume remains very low across the 0-180s test window, making it highly suitable for spray-and-wipe, CIP, and machine-applied cleaning applications.

Caustic Solubility: MACKAM® OIP HA shows good caustic solubility, postponing surfactant crash-out even at high additions – ideal for built alkaline cleaners and heavy-duty degreasers.
