We’re pleased to introduce formulators to BIO-Placenta target, a new ingredient from LABIO that builds on the existing BIO-Placenta active and is available through HARKE UK & Ireland.
BIO-Placenta target is a multi-functional anti-aging solution based on skin genetic activation, combining existing BIO-Placenta benefits and senolytics effects through a stable, high-absorption liposome delivery system.
Like the original BIO-Placenta ingredient, it contains five types of growth factors (EGF, IGF-1, acidic and basic FGF, and VEGF), along with amino acids and vitamins. These make it effective in wrinkle improvement, skin regeneration, skin elasticity enhancement, and cellular activation.
BIO-Placenta target also includes a senolytic effect, by introducing:
- NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide), a precursor of NAD⁺ that supports cellular energy production and DNA repair
- Carnosine, a naturally occurring skin dipeptide with antioxidant, anti-glycation and senescent-cell-suppressing properties
Together, these actives target ‘zombie cells’, senescent skin cells that drive chronic low-grade inflammation and accelerate visible aging, while the growth factors continue to support regeneration.

Testing Data
BIO-Placenta target has been evaluated through in-vitro, ex-vivo and clinical studies. Highlights include:
- In-vitro senescence markers: In HaCaT keratinocytes, 0.4% BIO-Placenta target reduced cellular senescence markers p21 (−29%) and p53 (−53%), and lowered secretion of the SASP marker IL-6 by 15%.
- In-vitro zombie cell staining: SA-β-gal staining showed a visible reduction in senescent (‘zombie’) cells across 0.1–0.4% treatment concentrations.
- Ex-vivo aging markers: In UV-exposed artificial skin, 1% and 3% BIO-Placenta target reduced the senescence markers p16 and p53 versus untreated controls.
- Clinical wrinkle study: In a 22-subject, 4-week study, a 3% cream improved neck wrinkles by 14.78%.
