HARKE UK & Ireland is proud to present Amino Collagen from Sinerga, an exciting new ingredient developed for formulators who are seeking a powerful, plant-based alternative to animal-derived collagen.
Amino Collagen is a bio-fermentative blend of selected amino acids that mimics the amino acid profile of collagen, delivering the structural and functional benefits of traditional collagen, without the animal origin.
Preserving the Triangle of Youth
As collagen levels in the skin naturally decline with age, facial contours begin to shift. Cheekbones lose volume, Bichat fat pads increase, and a double chin may emerge. This process inverts the so-called “triangle of youth” and leads to visible skin sagging. Amino Collagen is designed to combat these changes by supplying essential components to the extracellular matrix, stimulating collagen neo-synthesis, and inhibiting collagen-degrading enzymes.
The result is a firming, sculpting, and rejuvenating action that helps preserve the face’s natural contour and prevent visible signs of aging. Amino Collagen is:
- Lifting: Redefines cheekbones, Bichat bubble, and chin areas to preserve the triangle of youth
- Toning: Stimulates collagen production, increasing skin firmness and density
- Anti-aging: Inhibits MMP-1 expression to prevent collagen breakdown
- Vegan: 100% animal-free alternative to traditional collagen
- Formulation-friendly: Compatible with a wide pH range and easily added below 40°C
The Science Behind Amino Collagen
Amino Collagen is a blend of hydroxyproline, proline, and glycine – the core amino acids of collagen’s triple helix structure – derived through fermentation. These amino acids reinforce the skin’s extracellular matrix (ECM), which provides strength, elasticity, and support.
As we age, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), especially MMP-1, become more active, breaking down collagen fibers and weakening skin structure. Amino Collagen helps inhibit MMP-1, maintaining the skin’s collagen network and preventing premature aging.
It also actively supports fibroblasts in producing new collagen type I, which is the primary collagen responsible for skin thickness and resilience. The result is visibly firmer, denser skin with improved contour and tone.
How Do We Know It Works?
In-Vitro Testing
Sinerga measured the gene expression of MMP-1 and collagen type I in human fibroblasts, finding that:
- MMP-1 expression reduced by 40% at 5 mg/ml after 24h (maintaining effect at 48h)
- Collagen type I expression increased by 60% at 5 mg/ml after 24h
- Even at 0.5 mg/ml, significant improvements were observed: +50% collagen expression and -30% MMP-1
In-Vivo Testing
A 28-day clinical study on 40 women aged 45 to 65 demonstrated visible and measurable improvements in facial contour and skin quality:
- Collagen Index increased by +25% after 28 days (vs. marginal increase in placebo group)
- Double chin volume reduced by -23.5% (vs. +3% increase in placebo group)
- Bichat bubble volume reduced by -25%
- Cheekbone volume increased by +15%
- 100% of participants reported improved skin tone, firmness, and definition within the first two weeks
Ultrasound images, courtesy of Sinerga, show Amino Collagen increasing Collagen Index by 25% in 28 days:
