Natural ingredients

Thus, many Omya products are COSMOS approved and NATRUE certified, as well as either natural or have a natural origin index of 1 (according to ISO 16128).

Low carbon footprint
Our calcium carbonate solutions are based on sustainably sourced materials with a low carbon footprint. Calcium carbonate is a natural abundant mineral which is continually renewed. Processing this natural material is not energy intensive, so our ingredients often provide formulators with a more sustainable alternative to their existing materials.

Omyacare®

Used to improve the appearance and properties of soap bars, Omyacare has a much lower carbon footprint than other opacifiers. This enables formulators to improve product appearance and performance whilst meeting sustainability goals.

Omyacare is effective in anhydrous formulations such as face masks and solid makeup removers as well as in hygiene products. Its unique properties, improve foaming, help remove impurities and accelerate the drying process, making it a versatile cost-effective addition to personal care formulations.

Omyaskin®

Designed for optical blurring, Omyaskin is a natural mineral ingredient that can be seamlessly incorporated into colour cosmetics and skincare formulations.

Thanks to its efficiency, lower addition rates are required than for synthetic alternatives such as boron nitride, PMMA, and Nylon 12. This versatile ingredient enhances the formulation texture, providing faster drying and silky touch that appeals to consumers seeking high-performance products.

Omyaskin is suitable for both aqueous and anhydrous formulations. It can be used for serums, creams and emulsions, as well as colour cosmetic applications, including lipsticks, compact powders, and foundations. Omyaskin is COSMOS and NATRUE certified.

Cosmospheres®

Cosmospheres are colourful, cellulosic beads that add both visual and sensory appeal to skincare, body care and hygiene formulations. They are available in different sizes, colours and compositions, including active ingredients.

These customisable spheres help formulators respond to trends in the market, especially the demand for natural, sustainable solutions which do not contain microplastics. Some Cosmospheres are COSMOS and NATRUE certified, and they are also available in vegan mannitol-based variants.

Omyadent®

Omya’s proprietary technology creates functionalised minerals with a calcium carbonate core and a hydroxyapatite shell, resulting in structured particles like Omyadent. These particles are tailored to provide ideal solutions for oral care formulations.

Omyadent 100 is a natural origin COSMOS and NATRUE certified efficient remineralisation agent, which releases calcium and phosphate ions more efficiently than other hydroxyapatite sources. Through its remineralisation effect, it smoothens the tooth surface to gradually whiten teeth.
Omyadent 200 offers tailormade particle size distribution to occlude tubuli and prevent dentine hypersensitivity. Both products are suitable for all oral care formulations, including toothtabs and pastes.

Omyanutra®

Omyanutra is a porous compactable excipient made from calcium carbonate and tribasic calcium phosphate.

The unique structure of this non-nano mineral enables higher moisture absorption than other mineral forms. Omyanutra’s behavior makes it an excellent glidant for powder blends, reducing cohesivity and inter-particle interactions while absorbing moisture from the formulation. This enhances flow, prevents powder caking, and improves tablet compactability and mechanical stability.
